Tips and Tricks for Engaging Your Social Media Audience, Thursday May 19

Social media is one of the most effective ways to build meaningful connections with your audience, but it’s important to be thoughtful and intentional with your content. While the social landscape changes daily, there are several timeless principles you can rely on regardless of your experience level, budget, or platform. Learn how the Wisconsin Humane Society utilizes a few basic fundamentals to guide everything from comment replies to campaign strategy.
In addition to our awesome program this month, two scholarship recipients will be selected! Each year the Network for Charitable Giving (NCG) holds a random drawing to provide professional development scholarships. To be eligible you must be an up to date member of the NGS and be present to win (either in person or via Zoom). The scholarships are intended to support professional training opportunities for non-profit organizations’ fund-raising capacity. The scholarships may be used for workshops, conferences, webinars, or other types of professional training opportunities.

Nonprofits share common challenges: funding, volunteers, staffing, a need for specific skills or knowledge, etc. Join Habitat for Humanity's Executive Director Morgan Pfaff for a conversation about creative ways they've collaborated with area organizations to overcome these barriers and grow their community impact. Executive Director Robin Whyte of Community Foundation of South Central Wisconsin and Millie Mills, Senior Outreach Liaison at Agrace will share examples of how their partnership with Habitat for Humanity helped address some critical issues in our community. The presentation will also share some ideas on how to grow your own collaboration model and what to consider.

Community foundations are grant-making public charities dedicated to improving the lives of people in a defined geographic area, promoting local giving for local needs. They bring together the financial resources of individuals, families, and businesses to support effective nonprofits in their communities. Robin Whyte, executive director of the Community Foundation of South Central Wisconsin (formerly Greater Sauk), will explain several ways in which CFSCW supports local nonprofits, from encouraging bequests to making grants, with special attention to establishing endowments.
